ETAT PUR has launched its DAYLIGHT PROTECT REFLEX SPF 20 in a dropper tube

An interview with Camille Piligian product manager of NAOS GROUP.

Why did you launch this product and what problem do you solve with it?

With the DAYLIGHT PROTECT REFLEX SPF 20, ETAT PUR has launched in September 2016 a new generation of UV shield in drops, a new way to protect the skin from daylight UV rays. Any time. Everywhere.

Outdoor sport, lunch, walk…The skin is continuously exposed to UV rays, responsible for premature ageing. Thanks to our formulation, the skin is properly protected against UVA and UVB rays and benefits from the positive effects of sunlight all year round, and not only during summer or holidays.

With a perfect mastery of galenic arts, this product combines 100% mineral protection system with an ultra-fluid and imperceptible texture. With its powdery and dry touch, it can be used with many different ways: after or with daily cream, or at any time during the day in case of sun exposure. Face, neck, décolleté and hands. Ideal for localised protection on dark spots, tattoos or scars.

Practical, its handy size dropper tube fits into a handbag or a pocket and allow consumers to keep it within reach for protection against the sun when and where it’s needed.
The Biomimetic exclusive formula is suitable for the most delicate and sensitive skin for all family members (from age 3).

What was the main driver for choosing a dropper tube for your product?

We needed an innovative packaging for a perfect accuracy: drop by drop. A dropper tube for a perfect flow control of a powdery and ultra-fluid formula.

The most difficult requirement was to find a dropper packaging able to deliver our water-free formula with its 100% mineral protection system. Indeed, mineral protection could sometimes clog the delivery system of the product.

We had a minimalist formula but complex specifications:

  • Precise dosage
  • Ultra-fluid texture
  • Water-free formula
  • 100% mineral UV filters
  • Mineral particles > 200nm
  • Light, mobile, resistant packaging

Neopac dropper tube was perfect to fulfill the requirements:

  • Handy size tube to allow consumers to keep it within reach for sun protection at all times
  • Precise dosage of the drops for a varied choice of uses: directly onto skin or added to the cream
  • Precise and localised application: face, hands, tattoos, scars, dark spots
  • Drops with strictly identical size for a precise and steady dosage (0,0217g per drop)
  • To use in all situations: indoor / outdoor
  • Clean and hygienic use
  • No risk of leakage
  • Lighter and more resistant than glass or plastic packaging
  • The right material to guarantee a complete protection of the formula against light, moisture, corrosion…

Why did NAOS hire Neopac to create the packaging?

Neopac was the only supplier able to fulfill all our complex specifications. Plus, Neopac had a minimum order quantity of 10‘000 pieces: ideal for our sales volume.

Anything special concerning the secondary packaging?

The secondary packaging is a folding box conceived with a specific paper from sustainably managed Swedish forests. These forests are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and by Pan European Forest Certification (PEFC) to be well-managed forests. Besides, our folding box can be recycled.

Do you already have feedback from the market after the launch of the ETAT PUR tube?

The DAYLIGHT PROTECT REFLEX SPF 20 is particularly appreciated for its ultra-fluid and efficient formula. It’s very rare to find a mineral sunscreen with such an imperceptible and transparent formula.

Besides, we recently won an award: Prix Santé Magazine Beauté Santé 2017. This award was created 20 years ago to inform both general public and beauty professionals about new cosmetic products and their properties. This year, there was only one winner in the sunscreen category. Our DAYLIGHT PROTECT REFLEX SPF 20 had a special mention of the jury.
