We are thrilled to announce the latest addition to our EcoDesign portfolio of sustainable tubes. Our unique weight loss program for tubes is based on the concept of wall thickness reduction in the tube body. By reducing the tube body wall thickness from 0.5 mm to 0.35 mm, we are able to reduce virgin materials up to 30% on Mono and Coex tube variants – while maintaining a haptic experience similar to standard tubes.
We estimate that in our own packaging manufacturing operations, the new tubes will eliminate the need for up to 4.6 tons* of HDPE materials per one million tubes produced. This translates to an overall carbon footprint reduction of about 1.5 tons* of carbon dioxide per million tube bodies produced.
*Data reference: 1 million tubes, sleeve only, D50, 210mm length
